Completing an Internal Assessment in the Sciences can be daunting for many students. Trust me. I know all about it. If you are struggling with creating ideas or overthinking your experiment, do not worry! You have come to the right place! IAs are an integral component of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which requires every student to read at least one subject from the Sciences category. IAs in the sciences encourage students to develop their scientific skills by independently investigating a research question with some help from teachers. It essentially allows students to apply the knowledge and skills from their classwork to a real-world problem, enabling them to showcase their understanding of the scientific method, data analysis, and critical thinking. Through descriptions of my first-hand experiences, this article offers advice and tips to help IB students achieve top results for their IAs.
